THE OLD BALI

A reflection on how places evolve, an how some parts never really disappear —they just wait for you to notice them.

Sometimes you don’t realize what’s missing,
until you find a place that moves slower than you do…. You naturally start to wonder, as I did — about what it all must have felt before we learned to always match everyone’s idea of ideal life, same as this island learned to match everyone idea of it’s paradise.

The unseen, the small, quiet things that don’t perform for the camera or others—they just are. I wanted to find those parts again,
the ones that don’t try to be seen,
the rawness behind the noise,
the small moments that still move at their own pace.

And I think I actually did.
Not always how I imagined it,
not always how it looked in my head —
but that’s life, right?

It’s not about nostalgia,
definitely not an awareness….
More of a reminder that not everything that changes is lost —
some things just wait for you to slow down enough
not just to see them, but to finally fully understand them.
